Sanchez Collection Reception - Aug. 30, 2021

Alumna Diane Sanchez '95 MS recently donated 15 rare nursing posters from the 1910s and 1920s and over two dozen invalid feeders to the School. The artifacts will be incorporated into the School’s Dolan Collection of Nursing History and displayed in the Widmer Wing of Storrs Hall at a future date.

On Aug. 30, the School hosted a reception to welcome faculty and staff back to campus and temporarily displayed some of Sanchez’s posters in Storrs Hall. Sanchez attended the event, along with her family, and shared brief histories of each poster. Please enjoy this video of the event — we wish we could have had more of you there with us in person!

School of Nursing Stethoscope Fund

The School of Nursing Stethoscope Fund will be used to purchase stethoscopes for undergraduate nursing students. Every Nursing student is required to purchase a stethoscope prior to beginning their clinical work in the program. Each stethoscope costs $150 and our goal is to raise enough funds to provide one for every student. Not only will a gift to this fund help to provide a necessary clinical tool for each student, it will build a legacy of giving back to future UConn nurses.
