Leslie’s nursing experience encompasses Holistic Medicine, Child Health, School-based Health, Home Care and Nursing Education focusing on simulation. She earned certifications as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Health Care Simulation education specialist, Holistic Stress Management Instructor, and Master Gardener. Leslie is a member of National Association of Pediatric Nurses and Practitioners, American Holistic Nurses Association, AHNA Planetary Health Task Force, CT AHNA Collaborative Groups, Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments, Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education. Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health, Northeast Horticultural Therapeutic Network, and The Connecticut Master Gardeners Association.
Leslie joined UCONN SON in August 2017 and teaches across all specialties including pediatrics, behavioral health, obstetrics, and medical-surgical nursing at the undergraduate level. Leslie is the AHNA chapter lead for the Connecticut UConn chapter and enjoys working with the students to increase their awareness of Holistic nursing.
In her spare time, she runs a small farm, growing pesticide and chemical-free garlic and vegetables. She also breeds and raises holistically cared-for Nigerian Dwarf and Angora goats. Her hobbies include producing goat milk soap and mohair fleece products.
