She/Her/Hers
Alexis Tomarelli is a clinical didactic instructor at the UConn Elisabeth DeLuca School of Nursing. After earning her degree through the Accelerated Second-Degree BS/CEIN program at UConn Nursing, she began her career in the fast-paced environment of the emergency department, where she developed strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and the ability to provide calm, patient-centered care during critical situations.
She later expanded her impact by serving as a school nurse, supporting the health and well-being of students while promoting safe and inclusive learning environments. She obtained her master’s degree in nursing during this time and conducted research investigating the effects of nutritional education on preschool children’s health outcomes. Her diverse clinical background has given her a deep understanding of both acute and community-based care.
Currently, she serves as a nursing supervisor, where she leads with integrity, mentors staff and ensures high standards of patient care. In addition, she teaches pediatric nursing, combining her clinical expertise with a passion for education. She is deeply committed to helping students excel—encouraging critical thinking, confidence, and compassion in the next generation of nurses. Through leadership and teaching, she continues to shape both patient outcomes and future nursing professionals.
